Phobia Preview

1.
A phobia is the fear of something.

2.
 5 examples of phobias are
Arachnophobia – The fear of spiders.
Ophidiophobia – The fear of snakes.
Acrophobia – The fear of heights.
Agoraphobia – The fear of open or crowded spaces.
Cynophobia – The fear of dogs.

3.
 A) Monophobia is the fear of being isolated and that could be used for a photo with empty room-or alone in the midst of people.
B) Sciophobia is the fear of shadows and for that phobia I could provide dark lighting and a person looked discouraged.
C) Agoraphobia is the fear of being crowded by people and for this I could put someone in a space alone in the foreground and then a group in the background laughing and talking amongst themselves whilst the person in the foreground looks uncomfortably backwards at the group.
D) Photographic techniques I can use to highlight images are rule of thirds, simplicity and balance.

Welcome Back

1.
Millions of bison, sacred to Native Americans, once blanketed the Great Plains. But by the start of the 20th century, the animals had been hunted to near extinction and were thought to be a lost cause. A dedicated public and private conservation effort has nurtured a revival, and today hundreds of thousands of bison range across parts of Wyoming, Nebraska, the Dakotas and Montana, like this herd at Ted Turner's Flying D Ranch, on June 14, 2016.
I enjoyed this picture because without the caption this picture would reflect an abundance of bison but with the caption it is understood that these animals were hunted near extinction but are now being photographed from a private conservation which has nurtured them to survival.

2.

I like this picture because the woman looks so strong and calm while the men appear frantic. I also love how she's wearing a dress because a dress is considered formal wear but the event isn't formal in the least, but to me it shows grace under pressure.

3.

To me this picture resembles difference between lives. The new and clean decor of the ambulance is so stark against the appearance of the young boy with his dirty clothes and bloodied face. Its a sad image and its informative about the year of 2016.

1. Best Song-
In my opinion, the best songs of 2016 were the mashups for songs from album, Blurryface by twenty one pilots. The mashups of the songs, Ride, Heathens, Laneboy, and Tear in My Heart were shown previously on the album Blurryface but Tyler and Josh of twenty one pilots came together with band MUTEMATH to create a different take on the popular songs. The new songs include the same lyrics but with beat changes and a new music video including each song. I love twenty one pilots and I love anything they produce but I'd say i appreaciate these mashups because they were released around christmas time and I think many view them as a thoughtful christmas gift.

2. Best Movie-
I think the best movie of this year was the movie Arrival. I liked the movie very much because i was forced to think about what was happening while i was watching. I had to take the time to connect my thoughts and in the end i was left wanting more and i was happy i understood what had happened and i just wanted to explain the plot to everyone and anyone who would listen.

3. Most Important News Story-
I think the most important news story was when Harriet Tubman was decided to be the first african american woman on paper currency in 100 years. This to me is a huge step forward for our community and brings us closer to equality.

4. Most Important person of 2016-
I think one of the most important people of 2016 is Hillary Clinton. She not only eliminated the assumption that only men can be president, but  gave women a voice. She expressed her views on feminism and equality and police brutality. She provided women with a mindset of equality and set out to prove that women can have jobs like the president. She provided so many people with hope of change in the future.

Questions-
One thing that happened on my holiday is that i went to Dallas to visit my grandparents. This year i resolve to be more prepared in certain classes and to be more patient with my family. This year i'm looking forward to summer.
